Malay Language Creative Writing Competition
1 Gold with Distinction, 3 Golds, 3 Silvers & 2 Bronzes.
Our students took part in a Malay Language Creative Writing Competition organised by Pusat Bahasa Nusa. We are proud that Arissa Nurin Fatiha Bte Mohamed Firdaus (4 Integrity) received a Gold with Distinction award. In total, our students bagged 4 Golds, 3 Silvers & 2 Bronzes.
N2 Cluster Champion for the North Zone Toast Masters Competition
Nur Adelia Bte Muhammad Hidir (5 Love) emerged as the N2 Cluster Champion for the North Zone Toast Masters Competition, jointly organised by MLLPC and Anderson Secondary School.
2nd runner-up for NIE/NTU Malay Language Amazing Race
Our students, Nur Adelia Bte Muhammad Hidir (5 Love), Abdullah Bin Mohamed Alfian (5 Respect), Nur Shahana Daania (5 Respect) and Nur Dina Bte Razali (5 Self-Discipline) clinched 2nd runner-up for the NIE/NTU Malay Language Amazing Race.

River Valley Challenge: 3rd Placing
At Xishan Primary School, our students have the opportunity to expand their mathematical skills and are challenged to apply what they have learnt through engaging enrichment programs and participation in external competitions like the Singapore and Asian Schools Math Olympiad (SASMO) Competition and the River Valley Math Challenge.. In 2023, Xishan achieved 1 Gold, 7 Silver and 16 Bronze awards in the SASMO competition and was placed 3rd in the River Valley High Mathematics Challenge.
Science PinnaCle Challenge
To further cultivate the spirit of creative and critical thinking among our Xishanites beyond the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE), our P6 students were enthusiastically engaged in the Pei Hwa Secondary School’s PinnaCle Challenge. The challenge was to conceptualize an environmentally conscious candy coating, inspired by pharmaceutical capsules, using exclusively sustainable, renewable, and biodegradable materials. As a testament to their ingenuity, we proudly secured the 1st Prize in the Science Challenge category.

Singapore Primary Science Olympiad (2 Silver & 10 Merit)
Our Primary Five students had the opportunity to participate in the Singapore Primary Science Olympiad, which aims to generate greater interest in Biology, Chemistry and Physics among Primary School students and to cultivate enthusiasm and instil a passion for science subjects. Organised by NUS High School of Math and Science, this year, our school achieved its bumper crop of awards with twelve pupils achieving Merit and above, including two Silvers.

Singapore Youth Science Fair (Distinction)
Four P5 students participated in the 2023 Singapore Youth Science Fair organised by the Singapore Science Centre and the Science Teachers’ Association Singapore. The team garnered the highest achievement, Distinction award, from more than 200 projects. The team’s project, titled Enhanced Aquaponics@Xishan, aims to find an environmentally-friendly and sustainable way to carry out aquaponics in the school.

Green Wave Environmental Care Competition
A group of students, Kiersten Yeo, Krystabelle Zhu, Tan Xu Hao, Claire Lai, Liong Yuan Xi and Nur Asyalina Risqin, took part in Green Wave Environmental Care Competition 2022 which was organised by Sembcorp Marine. Their project focused on food waste management, where a food sorting and composting bin was designed to encourage the community (HDB households, school canteen vendors) to upcycle food waste into compost.
We are pleased to announce that their project has won the Encouragement Award. One of the team members, Kiersten, was awarded the Good Presenter Award. Congratulations to the team!
Tamil Literary Competition
Our Tamil language students took part in Tamil Literary Competition 2023 organised by Nee Soon Link Indian Activity Executive committee.
